Dr. Robert A. Catania Dr. Catania is Board certified in general surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He received his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia and completed his surgical residency at Brown University's Rhode Island Hospital in Providence.

Prior to joining the Surgical Care Group, Dr. Catania served as a general surgeon on active duty in the U.S. Navy. Dr. Catania is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences, the nation’s only military medical school, and has been a faculty member at both Brown University School of Medicine and the University of Maryland School of Medicine. His practice covers all aspects of general surgery, but he specializes in minimally invasive gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery and surgical endoscopy.
